World's first 300-MW compressed gas energy storage power station achieves grid connection and power generation

The project adopts the pressurized gas energy storage system solution independently developed by China NENG Construction, which is a national new energy storage pilot demonstration project and the world's first grid-connected 300MW pressurized gas energy storage power station. The total investment of the project is about 1.95 billion yuan, the single power is 300 megawatts, the energy storage capacity is 1500 megawatt-hours, and the system conversion efficiency is about 70%.
Compressed air energy storage technology is one of the most mature physical energy storage technologies in addition to pumped storage, and it is also a hot spot in the research and development of large-scale long-term energy storage technology. The construction cycle of 300MW pressurized gas storage power station in Yingcheng, Hubei Province is about 2 years, far lower than the 6-8 years of pumped storage, which is equivalent to pumped storage in scale, life, cost and efficiency, and can be called "super green charging bank", which is the key technology for the construction of a new energy system and the development of a new power system in China and an important direction for cultivating strategic emerging industries.
